Teaching Assistant - Montessori School

A Little Journey Montessori School is looking for a teaching assistant to join our team!

This is an amazing opportunity for those interested in a career in Montessori and/or early childhood teaching and education. We are looking to hire a qualified assistant teacher for this licensed childcare facility. 

About us:

• We are open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
• We are a year-round program.
• We have an infant, toddler, and preschool classroom within our school.

There is also an option for full-time or to work up to full-time employment.

Job Description:

• Assist lead teachers with classroom management.
• Change diapers and assist potty training children with learning to use the potty.
• Supervise young children inside and outside.
• Cleaning up after children and light chores throughout the day.
• Assisting children with their needs.
• Communicating with other teachers and parents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A passion for working with young children.
• Great at working as a team and with others.
• A friendly nature, patience, and love for children.
• Good organization and communication skills.
• Experience caring for children, especially ages 18 months to 3 years old.
• Montessori experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hands-on infant, Child, and Adult CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass criminal a background check for state licensing requirements.
• Verification of Immunizations (MMR and tDap).
• Training courses for state licensing requirements within 30 and 90 days of hire.

SALARY:

• Pay is DOE starting at $17.50/hour.

A Little Journey Montessori School is an early childhood educational program based on the Montessori method. We are a state licensed childcare facility with an infant room, toddler room, and preschool room. Our school strives to provided high quality education to young children. Our environment is prepared each morning and is a safe place for children to learn, grow and play.
