The Department of Water Resources (DWR) is recruiting for a creative, self-starter, enthusiastic, talented, and highly motivated IT System Support Specialist II to join its SAP Center of Services. The individual will play critical role in fulfilling mission critical objectives of the State Water Project (SWP) within State Water Project Analysis Office (SWPAO). The candidate will bring strong vision, leadership and help build strategic advantage for DWR by applying best practices from industry standards. This position will require someone who can provide strong Project Management oversight and IT Technical leadership support to manage design, development, technical deliverables and work closely with business partners on the critical items.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


  • Professional work experience in IT Project Management area, preferably PMP certified.
  • Experience in SAP technical support including design, development, and technical delivery would be helpful.
  • Knowledge of Industry standards in Software Development Lifecycle, Agile methodology, Waterfall.
  • Good demeanor, punctual, positive attitude, reliable, trustworthy with proven leadership abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills and has an ability to interact with business stakeholders with ease.
  • Strong commitment to learn, grow, mentor other junior staff and foster positive work environment.
  • Creative thinker with excellent analytical skills, understands business process and has ability to solve complex problems.
  • Quick learner and self-starter requires minimal supervision and directions.
  • Knowledge of Contracts/ Vendor Management, Performance evaluation and has an ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate at various levels.
  • Ability to prioritize task, stay focused and stay result oriented.
