POSITION TITLE: Esports Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Teen Center
REPORTS TO: Director, Educational Empowerment
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-Time, Hourly

AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua is a youth development organization that serves children aged six weeks to eighteen years old. PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THIS ROLE:
The Esports Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising structured esports programming for middle school students and teens within the Teen Center. This role focuses on developing teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and digital literacy skills through competitive and recreational gaming. The Esports Coordinator will oversee daily program activities, manage equipment, support tournaments and leagues, and create a safe, inclusive environment where members can grow, compete, and connect.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
As the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua Esports Coach/Coordinator, your responsibilities include assisting to:

  • Develop and implement daily esports programming for teens ages 13–18, including practice sessions, coaching, open play, and competitive activities.
  • Coach Club esports teams in popular games (e.g., Rocket League, Madden, NBA2K, Smash Bros., etc.) with a focus on skill-building and teamwork.
  • Promote sportsmanship, fair play, positive communication, and healthy online habits.
  • Organize, recruit and supervise esports tournaments, leagues, and friendly competitions both internally and with other Clubs.
  • Monitor all gaming equipment, consoles, PCs, and accessories; perform basic troubleshooting and communicate repair or purchasing needs.
  • Create a safe, positive gaming environment that encourages respect, inclusion, and teamwork.
  • Track member participation and document progress, outcomes, and engagement.
  • Support teens in developing leadership skills, peer mentorship, and collaborative goals.
  • Implement national Boys & Girls Club digital literacy and STEM-related curriculum as assigned.
  • Communicate with Director, Educational Empowerment on program needs, scheduling, equipment status, and member progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-supervised program space at all times.
  • Participate in Boys & Girls Club required trainings and Teen Center team meetings.

REQUIRED:

  • Experience in esports coaching, competitive gaming, youth development, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of popular esports games, consoles, and basic PC/tech troubleshooting.
  • Ability to recruit, engage, coach, and mentor teens in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to promote positive behavior, teamwork, and healthy competition.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of young people preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must pass a background check.

COMPENSATION: $19.00 per hour
